Project Name: Sales Management Tool.

       Summary:
                Sales Management Tool is actually integration with a Siebel product called eAdvisor. This is a web-based tool used by various British Telecom Agents to configure their product. These products are configured over the Web and the detailed information is at once given to the Customers/Clients. The Quotation and Contract Details are also handled to have a close Customer Interaction.

·       Product Details and its prices are shown immediately to the Customer.

·       Quotation, which are previously built need not to be configured again.

·       ASP.NET and C# is been used to build up the XML and store in the Details of respective Quotes and Contracts.

Project Name: Remote/Multiple login.

        Summary:
                Metalayer's second product is Personal Portal, where user could login in to his Personal Portal. Due to this the user could then directly get the updates from the different hubs (Single sign in). 

·       Once the user logs in then the Sessions would be created on each portal and the Username and Password would be checked for its validation.

·       Once login was successful then Web Load is used to get the updates of the portal.

·       This concept is unique. The updates would be presented in the Personal portal and giving the status of the activity of the Portal. 

·       In this the user logs in to his Personal Portal once and then he is logged in all the other portals.

Project Name: Virtual Meeting Tool.

        Summary:
                This was developed for the virtual meeting and presentation. 

·         It had features like Adding Slides, Images Web URL and documents. Also has a facility of sizing and resizing of Images in the presentation window. Participants would navigate through the slides and discuss it.

·         The important/key discussion would be summarized so as to get a quick reference after the meeting was over. 

·         It also had a moving pointer, which was used to visually guide the important parts of the Slide.

·         To be more fast and speedy in the loading of Images, the concept of pre-loading of Images was used.

Project Name: File Uploading component.

        Summary:
                The portal had an option of uploading of files/images. 

·         The readymade component (ASP Upload) is used for uploading of Files.

·         As this was very costly and had many restrictions in the size of file being uploaded, we developed our own File upload component. 

·         This component facilitated us to upload file up to 50 MB.

·         Storing the uploaded File in a particular directory on Hard Disk was pretty much easier.

Project Name: Online Form and File Management.

        Summary:
                This was mainly for management of the Web Server space. 

·         It had an online form, wherein a user can fill in the content and also upload a File to justify his remarks.

·         The file upload was to be saved on a different Server and the contents in the form on other server.

·         This form would be sent by an email to the Top management so as to solve their queries.

·         The email would have the contents of the Form and also the file, which was uploaded, as an attachment.

Project Name: Mobile Communication (SMS).

       Summary:
                This is build to send SMS (Short Message Service) from the hub to the members of the hub.

·         It has high-end facilities of getting the Status of SMS being sent and also the possible Error Code if message is not delivered.

·         This is built mainly in ASP.Net but has some methods, which are called from C#.

·         2 Way SMS is also built in: reply sent through Mobile could be directly posted on the hub.

        Tools: C#, ASP.NET, XML and XSLT.

Project Name: Instant Messaging.

       Summary:
                It is presenting Online Users on the hub and then has possibility of calling them for Chat.

·         There are two possibilities to get a chat call. The online user would be Online directly on the hub or would be online through a Metalayer Personal Portal. The call given to the user would be received from both, hub or personal portal.

·         Online users are with red @ symbol.

·         Option of Offline call is also built in. Hence the call would be generated automatically when both (called and caller) the users were online next time.

Project Name: Dynamic Chat

        Summary:
   
                  This chat has 2 versions, Static and Dynamic. 

·         Static version is based on the technology of Frames, while Dynamic version used Client side Script.

·         Dynamic was very much efficient, as no Server trip was needed to get the newly submitted Data.

·         DHTML was used so that the connection was not timed out even with slow Internet Connection. 

·         This also had a Dynamic form, which would appear from the Client side and not go to the Server each time.

        Tools: Visual Studio 6.0.

SYSTEMS & Networking:

Project Name: Setting up and configuring of Web Servers.

        Summary:
   
                  Management, Configuration and the Security of Web Server’s was mainly the responsible role to play.

·         Involved heavily in the management of Web Servers in Zurich, Switzerland

·         Maintenance, upgrade and Management of Web Servers involved the registering of Domain Name, setting up of Domain Name Server (DNS), Configuring of IIS and configuring of Visual Studio .Net for Servers. 

·         Registration of URL and directing it to proper DNS Server. The DNS Server had both Forward as well as Reverse Look up Zone. 

·         The uptime if Server crashes was minimum because of automated back system of Windows, which was very reliable and also cost effective.

Project Name: Setting up and configuring of LAN.

        Summary:
                Designed the configuration and installed LAN at
Metalayer Technology Center

·         There were more than 30 workstations in the Network. The operating Systems used are Windows 95/98/2000/Server and LINUX.

·         DHCP protocol of Windows 2000 Server was used.

·         The Internet connection was also been shared with this protocol only.

·         There was no 3rd party proxy setup.

·         Configured Routers and Switches, the Router was set in Bridge mode.

Project Name: Multimedia Broadcasting over the Web.

        Summary:
               
Metalayer Technology Center has Live Broadcasting over the Internet.

·         It is running with the use of Media Server (available with Windows 2000 Server) and Windows Media Encoder.

·         The broadcasting was through mms:// and the connection was done through any available port. 

·         Due to this online Interaction is achieved for presenting concepts/view to the Client.

Tool and Die Maker (Non-IT)

About TELCO:
        Tata Engineering and Locomative Company is one of
India’s premier Lightweight manufacturing vehicles (LMV) company. The manufacturing and development quarters are located in Pune while the headquarters is in Mumbai. TELCO is also involved in manufacturing of Heavy vehicle for Transportation purpose. Light Vehicle involves Tata Sumo, Tata Safari, Tata Sierra etc and Heavy Vehicle involves 407, 1510, 1322 etc.

Project Name: Dies of Indica, Sierra and Tata Safari.

        Summary:
                The Front and Rear door Dies of Indica, Sierra and Tata Safari were been manufactured using CNC machines.

·         The Design of Dies was done using AutoCAD and there given to CNC machine to give the desired output shape.

·         The cutting of Sheet Metal was doing by using LASER beam technology, which is unique.

·         Testing of these Dies was done to get the proper pressure applied.

·         Manufacturing of these doors would be done on Automated Hitachi Die machine.
